**PHOTO ADVISORY** Sen. Ruth Johnson participates in Women’s Suffrage Centennial Celebration

LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Ruth Johnson, R-Holly, spoke during the Oakland County Women’s Suffrage Centennial Celebration Kick-Off event on Friday at the county courthouse grounds in Pontiac.

Johnson celebrated the event with area residents and spoke about her journey as an elected official and as a woman who has held various leadership roles at the state and local level, including being the first woman elected as Oakland County clerk/register of deeds in 2004.
