LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Ruth Johnson celebrated National Reading Month by reading to Ms. Selden’s second-grade class and Ms. Ferguson’s first-grade students at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School in Waterford Township.
“Reading is important to a successful education and lays the foundation to a bright and rewarding future,” said Johnson, R-Holly. “It is always a great time sharing a love of reading to young people, and I encourage parents to join me in celebrating National Reading Month by picking up a book and reading to a child.”
To promote the importance of reading, Johnson has been reading to students at local elementary schools throughout March.
